Project at Jining facilities aims to lower production costs, improve resource utilisation
Beijing – Jiangxi Black Cat Carbon Black Co. Ltd. plans to invest Yuan50 million (€6 million) to upgrade feedstock processing at its Jining carbon black plant in eastern China, as part of efforts to reduce production costs and improve resource utilisation.
The project will be carried out by wholly owned subsidiary Jining Black Cat Carbon Black Co. Ltd, according to a 14 July Shenzhen Stock Exchange filing.
Located at the company's existing site in Jining New Materials Industrial Park, Shandong province, the project involves the construction of a facility capable of processing 50ktpa of feedstock.
The upgraded unit will produce “carbon-based feedstock” for a new process at Jining Black Cat's existing carbon black production lines.
According to the filing, the technology offers "high process safety, high equipment utilisation and stable product quality" while generating "higher added-value products through comprehensive utilisation."
The project is expected to take one year to complete and will be funded through internal and self-raised funds.
Black Cat said the project aims to "further strengthen the advantages of its production base," and reduce carbon black production costs, while improving utilisation efficiency and promoting circular economy.
