Mitsui to expand metallocene business

Tokyo - Mitsui Chemicals Inc is expanding its metallocene polymer business. The focus of the current expansion is on polyethylene, but Mitsui also makes metallocene-catalysed EPDM materials.
The latest announcement concerns the establishment of a sales and marketing company called Prime Polymer and new polyethylene manufacturing facility. The new plant with a capacity of 300,000 tons a year will be situated in Singapore, the hub of Asian demand.
