London - Rubber prices moved slightly upwards overnight. On Tokyo's Tocom Exchange, prices for the six-month contract were up by less than a yen at just above yen 248 ($3.09) on Wednesday 07 November. Shorter-dated prices were unchanged and closed at yen 238 (from 238).
In Singapore, the April 2013 TSR20 contract on SGX was trading up a cent at $2.83 a few minutes before the close on Wednesday evening; December 2012 prices were also trading slightly up at around at $2.78.
In India, NMCE said November prices closed up 2 at just over Rs 176 ($3.25). December prices closed up 2 at Rs 178.
In China the Shanghai Futures Exchange contract for November recovered slightly to close up 1 at Yuan 23.5 ($3.76) per kilo on Wednesday. Prices for January 2013 were alo slightly higher to close at yuan 24.1 (from 24.0).
