Conti adds new steering axle tyre size
ERJ staff report (LMH)
Hanover, Germany -- Continental has added a 385/65 R 22.5 version of the Generation 2+ steering axle tyre to its product range, giving a total of eleven different sizes of HSL 2+ front axle tyre.
Conti said the tyre is characterised by “even better driving and handling properties compared with the previous generation†due to micro-sipes that are integrated into the longitudinal grooves and run across the rolling direction.
The German tyre maker noted that together with the broad drainage channels, they also ensure good wet grip for the steering axle tyres. It said the heart of the tyre is formed by the innovative casing structure with four-ply triangular belts, increased air volume, a new steel cord chafer and patented AirKeep technology.
On the EU tyre label, the new 385/65 R 22.5 version of the HSL 2+ scores “B†for wet grip, “C†for rolling resistance and, being a low-noise tyre, one sound wave for noise emissions.
