Hankook to add mixer line in Hungary
ERJ staff report (DS)
Neu-Isenburg/Germany - Hankook is to add a mixing line at its tyre factory in Tiszaújváros in northeast Hungary. The company will invest euro 8.6 million in the project. Ground-breaking began at the start of this month and the line is expected on stream in late 2013.
Hankook's European factory currently employs 2,200 people and produces tyres for passenger cars, SUVs and light trucks. The plant currently manufactures 34,000 tyres per day. The product mix increasingly favours both ultra-high performance tyres and original equipment (OE) tyres for most of the leading European automobile manufacturers.
The extension will be realised in the framework of the Economic Development Operational Program of the Hungarian Government supported by the European Regional Development Fund (ERDF), allowing further technological developments resulting in the creation of additional jobs.
