Yokohama recalls 10,000 tyres in US
ERJ staff report (DS)
Washington DC - Yokohama Tire Corporation (Yokohama) is recalling certain AVID Touring S tyres, size 215/65R16 98T SL, produced between February 2009 and April 2009. The tyres may have been produced with an irregular geometry in the casing turn up area above the tyre bead in the lower sidewall. This irregular geometry may lead to a lower sidewall crack resulting in a rapid loss of tyre inflation.
Yokohama will notify owners, and dealers will replace the tyres free of charge. The safety recall is expected to begin on, or about, October 20, 2012. Details of the recall may be found under NHTSA Campaign ID number : 12T025000 at the NHTSA website
