Michelin launches new multipurpose earthmover tyres
ERJ staff report (LMH)
Las Vegas, Nevada - Michelin has introduced a new multipurpose underground mining tyre called the XMine D2, for use in underground mining or heavy duty extraction operations and low-speed transport in difficult conditions.
Michelin presented the tyre at MINExpo 2012, currently being held in Las Vegas, Nevada. The tyre maker said that in 2012, the XMine D2 integrated B2 technology, to make the tyre safer and longer lasting. The load capacity has also increased to two stars, which represents an up-to-24-percent increase in load capacity, Michelin said.
Michelin said its B2 technology strengthens the bead area, providing greater endurance and longevity under heavy loads and high-torque conditions.
The tyre is available in four sizes, 26.5 R 25, 29.5 R 25, 29.5 R 29, and 35/65 R 33.
