Davis-Standard opens new facility in China
ERJ staff report (LMH)
Pawcatuck, Connecticut -- Davis-Standard has officially opened its new manufacturing facility for extrusion and converting systems in Suzhou, China. The facility's management team and plant operators are in place with construction inside the building nearing completion, Davis Standard said in a 25 Sept news release.
“I've worked in China for 12 years, so I can confidently say this was a benchmark project. The decision to open a facility was made in February, and we're up and running seven months later,†said ceo Bob Preston. “The outstanding coordination between our Asia-Pacific and US teams as well as the Chinese government made this possible. Expanding our regional capabilities is something our customers are requesting. I promise you, we're listening.â€
The opening of the Suzhou site represents one of the investments Davis-Standard is making in the Asia-Pacific region. The new facility will support sales, technical support, equipment production, aftermarket and service programs, and start-up operations. It will also feature research and development equipment for customer trials.
