Brazil completes consultation on 'green' tyres - Lanxess
ERJ staff report (DS)
Leverkusen, Germany - Lanxess says it has submitted proposals to the Brazilian government's consultation on tyres sold in the country.
In a statement, Lanxess said that in July the Brazilian government carried out a public consultation to determine the regulations for tires sold in the country, and it is now analysing the suggestions for publication by the end of 2012.
For 30 days, the government presented the first draft of the Brazilian regulations and suggestions were made by all the players on the market: associations, academics, tire manufacturers and suppliers of raw materials (synthetic rubber). Among them, Lanxess, through its Technical Marketing area at the BU PBR, made suggestions to improve the initial proposal.
The Brazilian government hopes, said Lanxess, that by the end of 2012 the regulation will be published, and that as of 2015 or 2016 every tire manufactured, imported and sold in Brazil will be certified.
