Mitsui re-starts some operations following resorcinol explosion

Tokyo - Mitsui Chemicals has re-started some operations around the Iwakuni-Ohtake Works following the 22 April explosion and fire at its resorcinol facility there.
The company said operations have resumed at the Arlen plant in the Ohtake area. It added that shipments have commenced from its Iwakuni warehouses, given that the products are undamaged and the authorities have granted permission. Shipment of other products will commence when preparations have been completed.
Partial operation of the Iwakuni works infrastructure utility supply systems have resumed. Full-scale clearing out of residual liquid in the plants is underway.
