Wacker signs agreement with Italian silicones compounder

Munich, Germany - Wacker Chemie A.G. has signed an agreement with silicone rubber compounder TSF S.r.L. under which TSF will use Wacker's silicone raw materials to produce compounds for the Italian market.
The compounds can be sold under TSF's own label, with the tag line, “Based on Elastosil,†a Wacker brand name. The silicone compounds will be aimed at applications in the automotive, construction, electronics, cable and household-goods industries.
The two firms have worked together for more than 10 years. “TSF is among Italy's leading compounders and, like Wacker, has enormous know-how in this field,†said Bernd Pachaly, head of Wacker's Engineering Silicones business unit.
Giuseppe Rinascenti, CEO of Adro, Italy-based TSF, said the agreement “gives us the opportunity to produce high-quality compounds customised for novel industrial applications and new markets.â€
TSF was founded in 1984 and employs 53. It posted 2011 sales of about $57 million.
