Fan Rende outlines Rubber Valley strategy
ERJ staff report (DS)
Qingdao, China - During a meeting on 25 April, CRIA president Fan Rende outlined the thinking behind the Rubber Valley project, which aims to replicate in the Qingdao region, the success of the US Silicon Valley.
Fan Rende said he wants the construction to be accelerated. He said the core area is 500 acres, but this is within an area of 3000 acres and he wanted that doubled to 6000. Shandong province generated around one third of China's rubber industry sales, including 39 percent of radial tyres.
A long report on the CRIA website, gives many details of the project.
