Indian Rubber Board seeks to boost sheet rubber quality
ERJ staff report (DS)
Kottayam, India - A consortium of Indian federations is seeking to increase the quality of sheet rubber produced in India. The campaign follows a trend in India to make radial truck tyres which typically require RSS4 and above, whereas cross-ply tyres can use RSS5 materials.
The Indian Rubber Board, in co-operation with Automotive Tyre Manufacturers' Association (ATMA), All India Rubber Industries Association (AIRIA) and Indian Rubber Dealers' Federation (IRDF), is organising an awareness campaign for the small and marginal rubber growers with the aim of improving the quality of sheet rubber.
The campaign programme is scheduled to be conducted in the traditional rubber growing belt of Kerala, Tamilnadu and Karnataka from 08 May 2012 to 08 July 2012 and will be launched in a meeting at Mammen Mappilai Hall, Kottayam, on 18 April .
