Thailand to merge rubber agencies - report
ERJ staff report (DS)
Bangkok - Thailand's deputy agriculture minister has said the country will merge the three main rubber agencies in the country, according to a report in the Bangkok Post. The three agencies are the Rubber Research Institute of Thailand, the Office of the Rubber Replanting Aid Fund and the Rubber Estate Organisation.
The Newspaper quoted Pongsak Kerdvongbundit, president of the Thai Rubber Association, saying the move would accelerate the implementation of policies, offer price stability and reduce duplication.
The Thai Ministry of Agriculture and Commodities included a link to the report on its official website, but ERJ was unable to contact the Ministry for confirmation.
