NR Prices push $4 on strong upward trend

London -- Rubber prices jumped overnight in Tokyo and Singapore. On Tokyo's Tocom Exchange, prices for the six-month contract jumped through the yen 300 mark to close at yen 305 ($3.97) per kg on Thursday 19 January. Shorter-dated prices also jumped, to close at at yen 290.
In Singapore, TSR20 for June delivery was trading up by 16 cents at $3.76 toward the market close. Short-dated contracts also rose by about 18 cents, trading around $3.70 a few minutes before the close.
In India, NMCE said February deliveries rose by Rs3 to close at Rs 195 ($3.87).
In China the Shanghai Futures Exchange saw March 2012 deliveries rise by a fraction of a yuan to close at Yuan 27.4 ($4.34) per kilo.
