Bridgestone to establish passenger car tyre co in Vietnam

Tokyo -- Bridgestone Corp. plans to establish a manufacturing and export sales company for radial tyres for passenger cars in Vietnam, following its announcement on 11 Nov to build a new passenger car plant in Vietnam.
The capital for the company will be $307.8 million (Euro 236.9 million), and Bridgestone will have 100 percent ownership of the company. The company is planned to be established in February 2012.
The 1.02 million sq.m plant will be located at Dinh Vu Industrial Zone, Hai Phong City, Vietnam. Start-up is planned for the first half of 2014 with a production capacity of about 24 700 tyres per day by the first half of 2016, Bridgestone said in a 15 Dec announcement. The company aims to employ about 1900 by the first half of 2016.
