UK motorists only replace tyres when they are illegal
ERJ staff report (DS)
London -- One in seven UK motorists do not replace their tyres until a garage or MoT test tells them they are illegal. A survey by a UK-based van hire organisation said around half of UK drivers only replace tyres when the treads are worn to the legal limit.
The VanRental.co.uk survey found that just 6.8 percent of those questioned were definitely going to switch to winter tyres this winter, although 21.8 percent said 'maybe', when asked.
