Nizhnekamskshina to spend Euro 4.7m on environmental protection

Nizhnekamsk, Russia - Russian tyre company OAO Nizhnekamskshina will spend over 200 million rubles (Euro 4.7 million) on environmental issues, according to its management company Tatneft in a 13 Dec news release.
Environmental issues are a priority for Nizhnekamskshina, the company said, claiming that regulatory agencies have not registered a single violation in this area in recent years.
Tatneft said that the emission of pollutants into the atmosphere was reduced significantly in 2011 compared to 2010. Their share of the total emissions volume of all industrial enterprises at the Nizhnekamsk industrial hub is less than 3 percent, according to the news release.
The company said this result has been achieved thanks to an investment programme covering repair of ventilation systems and replacement of ventilation filter components.
Niznekamskshina said that compliance with environmental regulations if the company's first consideration when developing new tyre technologies.
