Bridgestone to raise N. American OTR tyre, materials prices
ERJ staff report (TB)
Nashville, Tennessee -- Bridgestone Americas Commercial Solutions will raise prices Jan. 1 in the US and Canada on OTR tyres and Continuum retreading materials.
The increases - 15 percent in the U.S. and 10 percent in Canada - will affect Bridgestone- and Firestone-brand OTR tyres and Continuum-sourced OTR retreads, the Nashville-based tyre maker said, as well as on Continuum-brand precure tread rubber and related retreading materials. Individual increases will vary by channel.
Kurt Danielson, president of the Bridgestone Americas division, cited cost increases related to market conditions, supply pressures, global competition and manufacturing expenses for the need to raise prices.
Bridgestone raised raised prices on OTR tyres and Continuum materials twice already this year, on Aug. 1 by an average of 11 percent and on March 1 by 12 percent.
