Kraton sales jump in Q3
ERJ staff report (DS)
Houston, Texas - Sales revenues at TPE maker Kraton jumped by 20 percent in the third quarter, despite a small reduction in sales volumes.
Sales revenue in the third quarter 2011 was $402.0 million, an increase of 19.8 percent compared to the third quarter 2010. The increase was largely due to price increases and currency effects. Sales volume in the third quarter 2011 was 77.6 kilotons, down 3.3 kilotons or 4.1 percent compared to the third quarter 2010. The decline in sales volume was principally the result of lower paving volume in North America and Europe and lower volume in Adhesives, Sealants and Coatings.
The company said it saw continued volume growth of its Cariflex isoprene latex, primarily used in surgical glove and condom applications.
