Chinese government nominates lead rubber institutions
ERJ staff report (DS)
Beijing -- As part of the Chinese Ministry of Science's research and development programmes, the Ministry has nominated a number of companies and institutions as lead partners in a series of industrial development targets. The result is that the named companies will become natinoal leaders in these areas of science and technology.
The 31 projects range from the development of heat resistant EPDM cable sheathing compounds, the development of a TDAE (REACH-compliant) extender oil and silicone rubber extrusions to winter tyre formulations; pucture-resistant tyres and low rolling resistance truck tyres.
All projects are highly commercially focussed and address key issues in the tyre and rubber industry, where Chinese products are known to be of worse quality than their international competition.
