Freudenberg's white FFKM compound has same flourine content as PTFE
ERJ staff report (DS)
Weinhaim, Germany -- Freudenberg Process Seals has developed a new grade of white perfluoroelastomer compound specially for pharmaceutical facilities and sterile components.
The new FFKM-based compound -- Simriz 506 --has a fluorination level equivalent to PTFE materials, making it both flexible and highly resistant to chemical attack.
Simriz seals remain flexible at temperatures as low as -12 °C and can be used in applications of up to 230 °C. Perfluoroelastomer's strength lies not only in its outstanding chemical, thermal, and physical resistance but also in the fact that all three occur at once.
