Solutia outlines slimline rubber chemical business

St Louis, Missouri -- Following the completion of the restructuring of the its rubber chemical business, Solutia said it is committed to the two remaining product lines. That business was previously known as Flexsys. The Solutia release did not mention Flexsys, although the Flexsys website still exists.
In a 7 June press rleease, Solutia said it has reshaped its rubber chemicals portfolio and said it remains committed to high-value rubber chemicals, including Santoflex antidegradants and Crystex insoluble sulphur.
"As promised, the ... rubber chemicals portfolio has been reshaped and Solutia is focused on the core rubber chemical businesses of Crystex insoluble sulfur and Santoflex antidegradants," said Greta Senn, president and general manager of Solutia's Technical Specialities division.
The company said it is continuing to defend itself against infringements of its intellectual property related to the production process for 4-ADPA, a key pre-cursor for the Santoflex product.
