Kolkata, Kerala -- The Indian Rubber Board has published the April edition of its Rubber Statistical News, which covers data from the month of February.
The publication says, "production of Natural Rubber (NR) in the country during February 2011 increased to 57,600 tonnes compared to 51,500 tonnes during February 2010 due to favourable weather conditions." It adds, "The aggregate production during April'10 to February'11 was 807,550 tonnes as against 780,750 tonnes during the corresponding period of 2009-10, registering a growth of 3.4 percent. The production provisionally estimated for March'11 is 54,400 tonnes."
Production of Synthetic Rubber (SR) in the country during February'11 slightly decreased to 9,634 tonnes from 9,859 tonnes during the previous month. The total production of SR during April'10 to February'11 increased to 101,097 tonnes as against 98,280 tonnes during the same period of the previous year.
