Kraton announces Q1 results

Houston, Texas - Kraton Performance Polymers, Inc has announced strong results for the three months ended 31 March. -
The company said Sales volume increased 12% year-on-year to 81 kilotons; Sales revenue increased 26% year-on-year to $345 million and Net income was $22 million in the first quarter 2011, compared to $20 million in the first quarter 2010.
"Kraton continued to deliver solid operational results in the first quarter of 2011, with sales volume up 12% year-on-year and sales revenue up 26% compared to the first quarter 2010. The increase in sales revenue reflects the impact of price increases implemented during the fourth quarter 2010 in response to rising raw material costs and other manufacturing inputs as well as higher sales volume compared to the first quarter 2010," said Kevin M. Fogarty, Kraton's President and Chief Executive Officer.
