Pirelli reviews Shanghai race, selects tyres for next races
ERJ staff report (DS)
Shanghai, China -- In reviewing the Shanghai F1 race, Pirelli issued a statement saying, "The Chinese Grand Prix went down to a battle between Red Bull's Sebastian Vettel and McLaren driver Lewis Hamilton over the last six laps, decided by tyre strategy. Hamilton passed Vettel for the lead with four laps to go, with the German driver then forced to defend from Jenson Button in the other McLaren and his Red Bull team mate Mark Webber."
The company alsorevealed the tyre compound choices for the next three grands prix of the 2011 Formula One season: Turkey, Spain and Monaco.
In Turkey and Spain, Pirelli will nominate the hard and soft tyres (as prime and option respectively). In Monaco the soft tyre will be the prime and the supersoft tyre, denoted by red markings, will make its debut as the option tyre.
