ERJ staff report (LMH)
Winchester, England -- English tyre retailer Micheldever has announced the acquisition of Harris Brothers Tyres in South Wales, adding a further four outlets to the group's operations.
The two companies have a history of working together, Micheldever said in a 22 Feb statement, noting that both companies focus on the principles of “best service, best prices, strong availability and friendly customer service.â€
Harris Brothers founders and directors, Derek Phillipart and Leighton Walker, are to remain with the company.
“Once again we have provided an exit opportunity to a valued customer. We will continue to follow this strategy of growing our market share and working in harmony with our wholesale customers,†said Jon Cowles, group acquisitions director at Micheldever Group.
He added, “We have a strong pipeline of acquisition targets coming through over the next few months and it is great to kick off 2011 with an acquisition of this quality and size.â€
An independent UK wholesaler, distributor and retailer of tyres, Micheldever Tyre Services, of which Protyre is the retail-trading arm, said this latest acquisition brings its total number of tyre outlets to 53.
