Vibracoustic factory opens in Yantai, China

Weinheim, Germany -- Freudenberg's Vibracoustic Business Group has opened its facility in Yantai, China. Although the official opening ceremoby was held last week, chassis components and airsprings for commercial vehicles for the Chinese automotive industry have been produced there since July 2010. .
The plant has a total area of 8,000 square meters and currently employs 100 people - with 100 new jobs planned up to 2014.
The company will be investing some 14 million euros in production and infrastructure at the Yantai facility until 2014. Freudenberg Immobilien Management GmbH will be investing a further 3.5 million euros in new buildings. Crucial reasons for selecting this location included proximity to customers and suppliers, the presence of a skilled workforce as well as the favorable location on the Yellow Sea on the Eastern Chinese seaboard opposite the Korean coast.
