Freudenberg develops white hygienic EPDM

Weinheim, Germany -- Freudenberg Process Seals is expanding its material portfolio by adding “white hygienic EPDM†(ethylene propylene diene monomer), a 1 June company statement said.
According to the statement, Freudenberg does not use any carbon black particles in the EPDM but retains “outstanding mechanical properties using mineral fillers,†the company said.
Ideal for applications in the hygienic design sector including O-rings, precision mouldings and seals for butterfly valves, 70 EPDM 253815 has proven its “mechanical and chemical stability and demonstrated optimum performance in CIP/SIP processes,†Freudenberg claims.
The white EPDM is FDA approved and ADI (animal derived ingredients) free, the statement added.
