Sid Richardson to boost carbon black prices
ERJ staff report (R&PN)
From Rubber and Plastics News
Akron, Ohio -- Sid Richardson Carbon Co. said it will increase the price of all carbon blacks by $0.05/lb over the May price level effective 1 June. The price hike will apply to all accounts not covered by a 2010 annual agreement.
Sid Richardson said that going forward all customers will receive monthly spot quotes based on carbon black oil and natural gas prices, with the May base prices acting as the starting point for increases or decreases resulting from feedstock price movements.
The firm said the price increase will be used to “properly maintain and improve our plants in order to continue to be a responsible producer and supplier of carbon black.â€
