Delticom's online tyre sales up 46 percent
ERJ staff report (RD)
Hanover, Germany -- Online tyre retailer Delticom AG has reported revenues up 45.9 percent to Euro 74.5 million for the first quarter of 2010 (Q1), compared to the same period last year. EBIT was up to Euro 5.9 million from Euro 2.6 million for the same periods, a 10 May company statement said.
A main driver for the sales increase, Delticom said, was unusually snowy weather that lasted into February. “This allowed for further selling opportunities for winter tyres following the already very strong Q4 2009,†the statement said.
“Following a very strong first quarter, and a satisfactory course of the summer tyre business so far, the management board is now confident to raise 2010 revenues by at least 10 percent year-on-year,†Delticom added.
