McLube offers water-based lubricant for rubber parts
ERJ staff report (RD)
Aston, Pennsylvania -- The McLube division of McGee Industries has developed a water-based lubricant for rubber, plastic, metal and leather parts, a 23 April company statement said.
Used in a range of applications in the automotive and transport industries such as O-rings, seals, gaskets and weather-stripping, the lubricant eliminates noises, gives a clear colourless coating and provides thermal and chemical stability, the statement said.
Also used as insertion and assembly lubricant, “current applications have proven the product to have a low coefficient of friction with excellent durability and lubricity,†McGee said, adding that the lubricant is environmentally friendly and contains no VOCs (volatile organic compounds).
