Bridgestone revises upwards its profit forecast

Tokyo -- Bridgestone Corp. has increased its profit forecast for the 12 months ended December 2009. The previous forecast was issued on 5 November 2009. The new forecast puts Bridgestone into the black for the year
Now the company says it expects to report operating profits of yen 75 000 million or 75 billion (euro 610 milllion), up from 60 billion previously forecast. Its sales forecast remains unchanged at yen 2590 billion (Euro 21 billion).
Net profits are now expected to reach yen 1 billion, rather than the loss of yen 10 billion previously forecast.
