Arkema completes purchase of Dow units

Midland, Michigan -- Arkema Inc. has completed the purchase of Dow Chemical Co.'s North American acrylic latex business and a acrylic acid and esters operation for $50 million. .
The deal gives Arkema Dow's acrylic acid and esters business in Clear Lake, Texas, and its UCAR Emulsion Systems specialty latex business on the continent. The companies announced the sale in August. .
By selling the business, Dow fulfilled a divestiture requirement by the U.S. Federal Trade Commission related to Dow's of Rohm and Haas Co
