ERJ staff report (DS)
Washington DC - Following a directive from President Obama last month, the US Department of Transportation has released its raw dataset on the Uniform Tire Quality Grading System. The UTQGS allows consumers to compare tyre tread wear, traction performance and temperature resistance.
On 8 December 2009, President Obama issued a memo to department heads across government, requesting they release three high-value data sets never previously released as part of his drive for more open government
The US Department of Transportation has released three datasets:
- Uniform Tire Quality Grading System (UTQGS)
- Child Passenger Safety (CPS) Ease of Use Ratings
- New Car Assessment Program (NCAP) - 5 Star Safety Ratings
