Dow Automotive sets up commercial vehicle unit

Auburn Hills, Michigan -- Dow Automotive has created a team of sales and application development experts that will focus exclusively on the interests of manufacturers serving the commercial transportation markets. The newly formed Commercial Transportation Group will provide solutions and technical expertise to both OEMs and lower-tier customers.
The Commercial Transportation Group will initially concentrate on the global bus and truck segments, with a focus on solutions that provide improved vehicle durability, safety, emissions control and fuel efficiency. Supported by Dow's Material Engineering Centre (MEC,) Dow engineers and researchers, aim to help customers translate material capabilities to applications, facilitating the reverse engineering needed to develop customized solutions that satisfy technical and economic requirements alike.
Target application areas include interior and exterior composite paneling, seating foams and components and Diesel Particulate Filters. The organization will continue to build on Dow Automotive expertise in glass and plastic bonding.
