Cooper to debut low-rolling resistance tyre in 2009
ERJ staff report (TB)
Findlay, Ohio -- Cooper Tire & Rubber Co. is finally crawling onto the fuel-efficient tyre bandwagon with the Cooper GFE, its first low-rolling resistance touring tyre.
The Findlay-based tyre maker said the GFE-for Greater Fuel Efficiency-is aimed at reducing rolling resistance without sacrificing tread life or traction. The company introduced the tyre at the Specialty Equipment Market Association (SEMA) Show, which is underway in Las Vegas.
Calling the GFE a “greenâ€-for environmentally friendly- tyre, Cooper said it combines state-of-the-art mixing technology together with an enhanced polymer system and silica tread compound, to provide exceptional wear, fuel economy, improved wet traction and a smooth, quiet ride.
