ERIKS group buys UK gasket maker

Barnsley, UK -- Barnsley-based Seals, Packings & Gaskets Limited has been bought by the ERIKS group nv. SPG employs about 52 and reported a turnover of £7 million (Euro 10 million) in 2007
The company focusses on the heating and boiler business and makes and sells products and services in the field of gaskets, rubber and moulded parts. ERIKS said the comapny splits its business four ways, with gaskets contributing 41 percent of sales; moulded goods contributing 38 percent; cut and sheet rubber generating 15 percent of sales and miscellaneous goods adding a further 6 percent.
With the acquisition of SPG the ERIKS UK cluster has added a new core activity next to its current core activities of power transmission, sealing technology, hoses and electro mechanical repairs, said the company. ERIKS also owns tyre drum manufacturer, Wyko.
