PolymerLatex raises prices again

Marl, Germany -- PolymerLatex is increasing prices of its latices worldwide. Nitrile rubber latex and latex sold to the tyre cord industry will rise from 1 September. These price increases are additional to the mid June mark up.
In the tyre industry, the company said, that
- Low solid Styrene Butadiene (LS-SBR) prices increase by 10%
- Vinyl Pyridine Styrene Butadiene (PSBR) prices increase by 15%
In nitrile rubber, PolymerLatex said the new increase is in addition to all previous announcements. The companyadded, "The imposed surcharge of 100 USD per metric ton (wet) remains unchanged."
Polymerlatex said, "“Butadiene is in short supply worldwide. The Butadiene market is almost dried up. We do not expect a near term change in the economics of the Butadiene supply chain. For the time being, Butadiene remains short and expensive, although crude prices dropped.†explains Lars Wallstein, Director Business Unit Specialties.
