Dow raises prices of Nordel, Affinity, Engage, Tyrin

Horgen, Switzerland -- Effective August 1, 2008, or as contract terms allow, Dow Europe GmbH will increase prices across Europe, India, the Middle East and Africa for all its olefin elastomers, including EPDM sold under the Nordel names, olefin elastomers sold under the Engage and Versify names, olefin plastomers sold under the Affinity name, and chlorinated polyethylene (CPE) resins sold under the Tyrin name.
Nordel IP and Nordel MG hydrocarbon rubbers will rise by 100 Euros per metric tonne.
Engage polyolefin elastomers and and Versify plastomers and elastomers increase by 150 Euros per metric tonne.
Affinity polyolefin plastomers go up by 180 Euros per metric tonne.
Tyrin chlorinated polyethylene (CPE) resins in Europe rise by by 100 Euros per metric tonne.
Dow did not give a reason for the increases.
