Trelleborg to close Canadian plant
GUuelph, Ontario -- Trelleborg Sealing Solutions will close its Guelph, Ontario, plant as part of the restructuring of its Global Elastomers Business Unit.
The factory produces elastomer products for the automotive, agriculture and appliance industries. It will cease operations with the next 12 months, leaving its 100 employees' status uncertain, the company said.
Some product lines will be relocated to other Trelleborg plants, while the Guelph operation fulfills previous commitments until relocation details are completed. The company has owned the plant since 2003.
No decision has been made on whether any employees will be relocated, Trelleborg said.
