Tokai Rubber contributes to 'quake fund

Komaki, Japan -- Tokai Rubber Industries said it is donating 5 million yen (Euro 31 000) to the China Sichuan Earthquake donation account set up by Nippon-Keidanren as an aid for the damage caused by the earthquake that hit Sichuan Province in China on Monday, May 12, 2008.
Individual affiliated companies (eight companies) of TRI group in China are planning to make donations in the amount of 5 to 50 thousand yuan, respectively, to Red Cross Society of China. The TRI group has also started raising donations from the employees.
In a statement, Tokai said, "We would like to extend our heartfelt sympathy to those who are affected by the earthquake and truly hope that the affected area will be rehabilitated and reconstructed as early as possible. "
