Trelleborg buys Italian seal maker, Officine Meccaniche GNL

Modena, Italy -- Through its Trelleborg Sealing Solutions business area, Trelleborg has agreed to buy the privately owned Italian company Officine Meccaniche GNL SpA, with approximately 60 employees and sales of about SEK 90 million (Euro 9.6 million).
“GNL strengthens Trelleborg's leading global position in the area of specialty seals for heavy-duty applications, i.e seals for the construction industry, mining industry and agricultural machinery, and will benefit from our worldwide marketing organisationâ€, says Claus Barsöe, Business Area President of Trelleborg Sealing Solutions.
Officine Meccaniche GNL SpA has its head office and production unit in Modena, Italy. The operations will be integrated in the business area Trelleborg Sealing Solutions. The deal is expected to complete before July 2008.
