Baton Rouge, Louisiana -- Albemarle Corp. plans to double the antioxidant production capacity of Shanghai Jinhai Albemarle Fine Chemicals Co. Ltd.
The Chinese company is part of the "Jinhai Albemarle" manufacturing joint venture in which Albemarle -- a global supplier of antioxidants for polymers, lubricants, fuels and biofuels -- gained a majority ownership stake last year.
Jinhai Albemarle supplies antioxidants to Chinese petrochemical companies from two facilities in China.
Albemarle President and CEO Mark Rohr said additional growth plans are in development to ensure Albemarle maintains its leadership position in the region.
