Trelleborg adds plant in Estonia

Sweden -- Trelleborg Industrial Products has today opened a newly constructed manufacturing plant in Kuressaare on the island Saaremaa in Estonia.
In total, the site comprises of 3200 m2 and when fully operational it will have more than 100 employees, said Trelleborg.
The company said in a 17 Jan statement that the increased plant capacity is designed to “to meet current and future demands in the region.â€
According to Trelleborg, the production site will use leading-edge manufacturing processes, and will produce moulded rubber products for sealing and dampening within the agricultural and vehicle industries.
This project will not be Trelleborg's first in Estonia, the company signed a joint venture in 1992 with Enn Meri, through the company Oü Saare Martex, to which it has now become the sole owner of.
“Our strong platform will be further strengthened by this plant, which will be used to expand our operations in eastern Europe,†said Lennart Johansson, president of Trelleborg Engineered Systems, in a 17 Jan statement.
