Greenfield facility in Bengaluru to "bring together capabilities under one roof" in India
Bengaluru, India – Trelleborg Sealing Solutions (TSS) is expanding its production capacity in India by 30% with a new “state-of-the-art” manufacturing facility in Bengaluru, in the southern Indian state of Karnataka.
The greenfield facility is scheduled for completion in 2027 and will feature a campus spanning 50,000 sq.m., including 30,000 sq.m. of buildings for manufacturing, R&D, application engineering, customer support and supply chain operations.
In a 13 April statement, TSS said the facility will bring together capabilities under one roof for the first time in India.
Operations will include the production of polytetrafluoroethylene (PTFE) products, rotary shaft seals, mechanical face seals and polyurethane (PU) solutions.
The facility will serve sectors including aerospace, automotive, agriculture, construction, fluid power, industrial automation, oil and gas, railways and semiconductors.
TSS said the expansion reflects sustained growth in India since it opened its first manufacturing site in Bengaluru in 2005.
“The new facility will strengthen our presence in industrial and automotive and support our strategic entry into aerospace in India,” said Juergen Bosch, president of TSS.
“With everything centralised, we are better positioned to accelerate innovation and serve customers locally and globally,” he added.
The site will also include a dedicated R&D centre with materials and testing laboratories to support product development and analysis.
It is designed to meet international standards including AS/EN 9100, IATF 16949, ISO 9001, ISO 14001 and ISO 45001.
Furthermore, the campus is being developed with a focus on energy efficiency, safety and reduced environmental impact, and is expected to create hundreds of jobs in the region.
