Canadians publish tyre safety videos
ERJ staff report (DS)
Montreal, Canada -- Three Canadian bodies have together created a series of six videos which, they say, clearly demonstrate how winter tyres drastically improve driver safety.
The videos can be seen on the web (see link below). They were created by Transport Canada, the Automobile Protection Agency (APA) and the Rubber Association of Canada (RAC). Alongside an introduction and summary, the videos show four different tests. In each, two similar vehicles attempt to brake or corner. One is fitted with winter tyres, the other with all-season tyres. The tests cover All Wheel Drive Truck Tests; Rear Wheel Drive Car Tests; Rear Wheel Drive Car vs. Truck Tests; and Front Wheel Drive Car Tests.
