Amtel-Vredestein to supply tyres for the Fiat Albea
ERJ staff report (SS) Moscow, Russia - OJSC Amtel-Vredestein, the subsidiary of Russia's largest passenger car tyre manufacturer Amtel-Vredestein NV, has signed a distribution deal with OJSC Severstal-Avto, to supply up to 10 000 Amtel tyres per month for FIAT Albea cars produced in Russia.
According to an 18 Dec statement from Amtel, the contract, which will commence in the first quarter of 2008, has been in preparation for about two years.
Most of the tyres will come from Amtel's Povolzhye tyre complex in Kirov, which as received two ISO certificates: compliance with quality standards ISO/TS 16949:2002 and ecology certificate 14001:2004.
“We are proud to cooperate with such a dynamically developing company as Severstal-Avto,†said Amtel-Vredestein's CEO Petr Zolotarev, in the statement. “This agreement is one more proof of the international quality of Amtel tyres,†he added.
“We've chosen Amtel tyres for its exceptional performance, reliability, quality and safety,†noted Peter Tissington, head of Centre of Localisation, Severstal-avto, in the statement. “Our thorough examination has shown that these tyres are in full compliance with the high quality standards of FIAT cars produced at our facility,†he added.
