Dow UCAR increases prices for emulsion products and rheology modifiers
ERJ staff report (SS) Gary, North Carolina -- UCAR Emulsion Systems (UES) will increase the off-list prices of its emulsion products and rheology modifiers by $0.03/ pound in NA, as of 1 Jan 2008.
The business unit of The Dow Chemical Co. said in a 17 Dec statement that products affected include acrylic, vinyl acrylic, styrene acrylic, and styrene butadiene latexes, Evocar latexes, Neocar polymers, and Ucar Polyphobe rheology modifiers.
The company said that the increase is due to escalating natural gas prices as well as record prices for oil, methanol, ethylene and propylene, all of which are significant raw materials for these latex products.
Customers interested in learning more about the price increases should contact their local Dow sales representatives, said the statement.
