Apollo Tyres showcases concepts at Tyrexpo Asia 2007
Singapore - Apollo Tyres has revealed its new Aspire TT tyre at the Tyrexpo Asia 2007 show, running from 11 to 13 Sept, in Singapore.
The tyre, which is designed by Tom Tjaarda, has a bidirectional asymmetric tread pattern, created for greater grip, manoeuvering, and comfort, according to the company's statement.
Apollo said that the new tyre represents the company's “foray into the world of concept tyres†-- an area it is looking at keenly for the development of future products.
Apart from the Tjaarda tyre, also on display was the Dolphin concept effectiveness on wet surfaces, which the company claims has an aggressive off-shoulder for performance on uneven surfaces.
“These two concepts are a demonstration of the company's ability to deliver on the various aspects of design and technology,†said Neeraj Kanwar, joint managing director and COO of Apollo Tyres Ltd. “I am encouraging my teams to start thinking beyond what seems possible and make the impossible a reality for our customers,†he added.
